1/2 Inch Starfire Classic Fire Glass by American Fire Products delivers the most colorless presentation across the entire fire glass range. While individual pieces appear transparent, once installed in the burner pan, they transform into an almost white media bed in sunlight and glow warmly at night under the flames.
The 1/2″ size is typically recommended for indoor fireplaces, as the bigger pieces leave more air pockets and create less back pressure on the gas. It is also the better choice for outdoor propane features: propane is heavier than air, and the extra space helps it rise and disperse. The exception is a burner with nozzles designed to stay uncovered, where the glass size doesn’t affect the gas flow.
