This American FireGlass Electronic Ignition Fire Pit Kit will help achieve a professional-grade fire pit with family-friendly safety features, allowing you to enjoy the warmth and ambiance with the convenience of a switch or button!

AWEIS Electronic Ignition System

This provides the highest level of safety for your fire feature as it constantly monitors for the presence of a flame, if this is not detected, the AWEIS System automatically makes multiple attempts to re-light. If the fire feature fails to re-light, the system will automatically close the internal gas valve as a safety precaution. This is a certified system, ideal for areas where fire pit safety features and certification are required by local code.

The AWEIS is one of the smallest electronic ignition systems available on the market making it the ideal choice for fire bowls or fire pit features.

The AWEIS can be wired to a wall switch or remote control unit (optional add-on) to operate the fire pit, however, when not in regular use, or to prevent accidental ignition, it is recommended that you turn off the gas supply at the gas shutoff valve. The valve is supplied with the kit and is required by the Code to be installed on the gas feed prior to the location of the appliance.

The Pan & Burner

Both the Pan and the Burner are made of 100% high-grade 304 stainless steel and are built to endure the rigors of the outdoor environment.

The Round Drop-in Pan or Tray is designed to sit in an opening about 1″ bigger than the quoted tray size, resting securely on its generous lip. The pan size relates to the dimensions of the base and excludes the 1 ¼” support rim. The pans themselves are 2.5″ deep.

Weep holes in the bottom of the Pan allow for drainage, preventing water accumulation. The Burner is designed to ensure a smooth gas flow preventing whistling noises and for a better flame.

 

What to Consider

• American Fire Glass Electronic Ignition Kits are for outdoor, vented, fire features ONLY.

• Take into consideration your available BTUs at the fire pit site when choosing a tray/burner size. Ensure you have sufficient gas pressure to operate your Fire Pit. For more information on this please read our post – How to successfully build a gas fire pit 

• The Liquid Propane version is intended for whole house propane supply only.

• Ventilation – Install a minimum of 18 square inches of ventilation at the bottom on at least two opposing walls of the enclosure. Not only does this provide airflow to avoid overheating the components and air for the air mixer to function properly, but it is also essential in the event of gas leaks and especially in the use of LP applications where unburnt LP can pool below the burner due to being heavier than air!

• The AWEWS components require a minimum of one cubic foot of space beneath the bottom of the pan for installation.

• Drainage – Sufficient drainage must be included in the enclosure design to prevent submerging components.

• Installation – Certified NFI Professional Recommended

• Adding a Stainless Steel Fire Pit Lid to the fire pit will help protect your equipment from the elements.
