1/2 Inch Evergreen Reflective Fire Glass by American Fire Products has cool green tones that come alive as the flames dance across the surface, reflecting light in all directions. It looks almost as good in daylight, with the sun catching the facets, as it does at night.
The 1/2″ size suits larger fire pits and is typically recommended for indoor fireplaces running on natural gas, as the bigger pieces leave more air pockets and create less back pressure on the gas. It is also the better choice for outdoor propane features: propane is heavier than air, and the extra space helps it rise and disperse. The exception is a burner with nozzles designed to stay uncovered, where the glass size doesn’t affect the gas flow. A finer 1/4 Inch Evergreen Reflective Fire Glass is also available, popular for smaller fire features.
