1/2 Inch Black Classic Fire Glass by American Fire Products adds depth and drama with its inky black tones, creating a striking contrast against the bright flames. Under firelight it softens to deep charcoal hues that gleam subtly, without the mirrored finish of reflective glass.
The 1/2″ size is typically recommended for indoor fireplaces running on natural gas, as the bigger pieces leave more air pockets and create less back pressure on the gas. It is also the better choice for outdoor propane features: propane is heavier than air, and the extra space helps it rise and disperse. The exception is a burner with nozzles designed to stay uncovered, where the glass size doesn’t affect the gas flow.
