Handcrafted in California by The Outdoor Plus, the Florence Fire Pit blends clean lines and a simple round profile with rugged durability. Made from high-performance GFRC, it’s built to withstand the elements and provide reliable, year-round use in any climate.
Reinforced with glass fibers (GFRC – Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete), the fire pit is significantly lighter than traditional concrete, yet it offers superior tensile strength and enhanced resistance to cracking, warping, and environmental stress. Additionally, the pigment is blended throughout the material for long-lasting color and less noticeable wear over time.
The Propane version includes an integrated access door for storing a standard 20 lb tank (tank not included), making it as functional as it is beautiful.
While the height remains a constant 20 inches and the ledge stays approximately 12″ wide, a key visual change across sizes is the ratio of burn area to burner size. As the burn area increases, more space is created between the flame footprint and the ledge, resulting in a broader area of lava rock or fire media and a more open appearance. The largest model increases the burner size slightly to help rebalance this. Overall, each size offers a distinct visual style while maintaining the same clean, modern aesthetic across different settings and seating arrangements.

Select Size
Three Diameters: 46, 54, and 72 Inches. This is the 20″ Tall model listing.
Select Gas Type
Available for use with Natural Gas and Propane. Be sure to select the correct gas type, as a Natural Gas setup cannot be used with Propane and vice versa.
Select Burner
There are two options for burners: a Standard Burner or a Bullet Burner, which produces approximately twice the flame height of an equivalently rated Standard Burner. For more details on Bullet Burners, click the link to explore features.
Select Ignition Type
There are 5 options for the Florence GFRC Fire Pit 20 Inches Tall models:
Match Lit
The Match Lit system utilizes the chrome key valve installed on the fire pit structure to light the burner.
Turn the key to the on position and light the gas with a long match or kitchen lighter. The flame can be adjusted and turned off using the key valve.
Match Lit Flame Sense (LC Certified)
These systems operate in the same manner as the standard Match Lit systems. However, they also incorporate technology that monitors the flame.
If the flame were to extinguish accidentally, the gas supply would be shut off. This action prevents the build-up of a potentially dangerous gas cloud.
Spark Ignition Flame Sense (LC Certified)
Spark Ignition systems utilize battery power to provide a push-button ignition of the flame via a control panel on the fire pit.
This unit also incorporates Flame Sensing technology, which will automatically turn off the gas supply if the flame accidentally extinguishes.
Electronic Ignition – Plug & Play (CSA Certified)
Suitable for installations where mains power is available, but not recommended for locations close to water (see Low Voltage options). This system continuously monitors flame and operating conditions, automatically relighting if extinguished and shutting down if safety limits are exceeded.
Can be connected to a wall switch, timer, emergency stop, or integrated into a smart home system. Optional remote control upgrade available.
Electronic Ignition – Low Voltage (CSA Certified)
Low-voltage electronic ignition systems (12VAC) are suitable for fire features near water and are commonly used in poolside installations.
This system continuously monitors flame and operating conditions, automatically relighting if extinguished and shutting down if safety limits are exceeded.
These systems can be connected to a wall switch, timer, remote control, pool controller, or smart home system. Remote control upgrades are available.
Select Color
The GFRC range is available in eighteen finishes, including nine standard colors with a regular finish, 5 metallic colors that reflect in the light, or 4 rustic colors that have a textured appearance on the surface. View GFRC Color Swatch – PDF.
Because of its handmade nature, slight variations in color and texture will occur to provide a truly unique product.
Once you have selected a finish, we recommend requesting a physical color sample for final approval. As each unit is custom-made by The Outdoor Plus (TOP), all sales are final.
