The Standard Capacity Propane Match Lit Kit, manufactured by American Fire Products (AFP), is the most cost-effective solution for fire pits utilizing a portable 20 lb Liquid Propane (LP) tank. This basic kit includes all the necessary components, including a 175,000 BTU regulator and hose to control the gas flow. This 175K BTU regulator represents the practical maximum capacity for a 20 lb propane tank.
Simple Operation and Safety Check
- Ignition First: Introduce the lit match or long-stem lighter to the burner area.
- Open Regulator Slowly: Slowly turn the Regulator Valve to release gas. Important – Open the valve slowly to prevent the Propane tank’s Excess Flow Device (safety mechanism) from accidentally tripping, which would severely restrict your gas flow.
- Light and Adjust: The burner should light immediately. Once lit, you can adjust the flame height using the regulator valve.
