Design & Construction
Formed from glass fiber reinforced concrete, the Florence is designed for long-term outdoor use, offering a balance of strength and reduced weight compared to traditional concrete. Color is cast throughout the material rather than applied as a surface finish, helping to maintain consistency over time and making minor wear or surface marks less noticeable.
The smooth, hand-finished surface is available in a wide selection of color options, allowing the piece to sit comfortably within both contemporary and more traditional settings.
Size & Proportions
At 12″ high with a 42″ diameter, this version prioritizes horizontal presence while keeping the vertical profile minimal. The proportions work particularly well in patio layouts where a lower focal point is preferred.
Options
Select Gas Type
Available for use with Natural Gas and Propane. Be sure to select the correct gas type as the Natural Gas setup cannot be used with Propane and vice versa.
Select Burner
There are two burner options: a Standard Burner or a Bullet Burner, which produces approximately twice the flame height. For more information on Bullet Burners, use the link to see details.
Select Ignition
There are 5 options
Match Lit
The Match Lit system utilizes the chrome key valve installed on the fire pit structure to light the burner.
Turn the key to the on position and light the gas with a long match or kitchen lighter. The flame can be adjusted and turned off using the key valve.
Match Lit Flame Sense (LC Certified)
These systems operate in the same manner as the standard Match Lit systems. However, they also incorporate technology that monitors the flame.
If the flame were to extinguish accidentally, the gas supply would be shut off. This action prevents the build-up of a potentially dangerous gas cloud.
Spark Ignition Flame Sense (LC Certified)
Spark Ignition systems utilize battery power to provide a push-button ignition of the flame via a control panel on the fire pit.
This unit also incorporates Flame Sensing technology, which will automatically turn off the gas supply if the flame accidentally extinguishes.
Electronic Ignition – Plug & Play (CSA Certified)
Suitable for installations where mains power is available, but not recommended for locations close to water (see Low Voltage options). This system continuously monitors flame and operating conditions, automatically relighting if extinguished and shutting down if safety limits are exceeded.
Can be connected to a wall switch, timer, emergency stop, or integrated into a smart home system. Optional remote control upgrade available.
Electronic Ignition – Low Voltage (CSA Certified)
Low-voltage electronic ignition systems (12VAC) are suitable for fire features near water and are commonly used in poolside installations.
This system continuously monitors flame and operating conditions, automatically relighting if extinguished and shutting down if safety limits are exceeded.
These systems can be connected to a wall switch, timer, remote control, pool controller, or smart home system. Remote control upgrades are available.
Select Color
The GFRC range is available in eighteen finishes, including nine standard colors with a regular finish, 5 metallic colors that reflect in the light, or 4 rustic colors that have a textured appearance on the surface. View GFRC Color Swatch – PDF.
Because of its handmade nature, slight variations in color and texture will occur to provide a truly unique product.
Once you have selected a finish, we recommend requesting a physical color sample for final approval. As each unit is custom-made by The Outdoor Plus (TOP), all sales are final.
