These Smart Weather Electronic Ignition Systems (SWEIS) utilize CSA-certified components and are designed for outdoor fire features.

What is Fire Pit Electronic Ignition?

Electronic Ignition provides the highest level of safety available for a gas fire pit along with options to light your burner either via an ON/Off switch, Electric Timers, Emergency Stop Buttons, a swimming pool system, remote control, an App, or a home automated system to provide effortless control of your fire pit.

An Electronic Ignition system is the most sophisticated way to light your fire pit.

The SWEIS monitors the presence of a flame using a thermocouple and should the flame be extinguished will make several attempts to relight the flame. Only if that fails will the system shut off the gas supply.

SWEIS units are not only incredibly robust but safety is also a top priority for The Outdoor Plus. The units are tested in both mild rain and snow and can withstand winds up to 55mph. The unit will shut off automatically in unsafe, severe rain & wind conditions.

Options when purchasing:

12 Volt – Low Voltage (TOP-500EIS-100-12)

• To be used for installations within five feet or less of water features, such as swimming pools, fountains, etc.
• Includes Electronic Valve, Pilot Igniter, 12V-14V Transformer

110 Volt – Plug and Play (TOP-500EIS-100-110)

• Includes Electronic Valve with a 3-prong plug and a Pilot Igniter.

Further Information

• Compatible with both Natural Gas and Liquid Propane (Portable LP Tank or Hard Line LP )
• Compact design enables installation in tight spaces such as fire bowls.
• Utilizes a 110V Plug & Play System featuring a three-prong plug for quick installation, requiring only a weather-protected GFCI socket with a light switch.
• Proper Venting – 1 Square Inch of ventilation is REQUIRED for every 10,000 BTUs. This is especially important for propane units due to the gas’s heavier-than-air nature, which can lead to pooling.
• For liquid propane applications, fire media smaller than 1/2″ is not recommended. Approved options include 1/2″ to 3/4″ fire glass or man-made refractory stones designed for fire pits. Sand should not be used, and hollow areas must not be filled.
• An Air Mixer for Propane Is Recommended for Propane Burners.
• Installation of a listed manual gas shutoff device is mandatory before the location of the appliance.
• The pilot is configured for natural gas. A propane gas injector is provided in the kit.
• A heat shield/plate or burner pan MUST be installed between the SWEIS and the burner ring to avoid overheating.
• Installation and servicing of this product must be performed exclusively by a qualified installer, service agent, or local gas supplier.
