Smart Weather Electronic Ignition Systems (SWEIS) For Fire Pits

The Smart Weather Electronic Ignition System (SWEIS) is manufactured specifically for outdoor fire features. These CSA-certified units are available in either 110V or 12V.

What is an Electronic Ignition Fire Pit?

This type of electronic ignition system provides the highest level of safety available.

Outdoor fire pit electronic ignition systems monitor for the presence of a flame, and should that flame be extinguished will make several attempts to relight it. If that fails, the system will shut off the gas supply.

SWEIS units are not only incredibly robust but safety is also a top priority for The Outdoor Plus. The units are tested in mild rain and snow and can withstand winds up to 55mph.  The unit will shut off automatically in unsafe, severe rain & wind conditions.

An electronic ignition system is the most sophisticated way to light your fire pit. SWEIS  electronic ignition can be set up for control via an ON/Off switch, Electric Timers, Emergency Stop Buttons, a swimming pool system, a remote control, an App, or a home automated system. Any of which provides effortless control of your fire pit.

Further Information

• Compatible with both Natural Gas and Liquid Propane (Portable LP Tank or Hard Line LP )
• The small construction allows it to be installed in tight spaces, like fire bowls.
• With the 110V Plug & Play System, the three-prong plug speeds up installation and only requires a weather-protected GFCI socket with a light switch.
• Proper Venting – Certain fire pit enclosures may require extra ventilation depending on size, material, or extended use. 1 Square Inch of ventilation is REQUIRED for every 10,000 BTUs. This is especially important for propane units, as propane gas is heavier than air and can pool in the bottom of an enclosure.
• Fire Media smaller than 1/2″ is not recommended for liquid propane applications.  You can use 1/2″ to 3/4″ Fire glass specifically designed and approved for fire features as well as stones of man-made materials (refractory) designed for fire pits. DO NOT USE SAND, AND DO NOT FILL HOLLOW AREAS.
• An Air Mixer for Propane Is Recommended for Propane Burners.
• A listed manual gas shutoff device must be installed on the gas feed to the location of the appliance.
• The pilot is configured for natural gas. A propane gas injector is provided in the kit.
• A heat shield/plate or burner pan MUST be installed between the SWEIS and the burner ring to avoid overheating.
• Only a qualified installer, service agent, or local gas supplier may install and service this product.
