Fire Pit Cover – Linear
Considerable time, effort and expense has gone into the construction of your fire feature, and whilst American Fireglass Drop In Fire Pit trays are constructed from 304 Grade Stainless steel and as such are ideally suited to the outdoors environment and tough conditions of a hot fire pit, it makes a lot of sense to provide as much protection from the elements as possible.
Top quality fire glass is a ‘pure’ product, which is how it burns cleanly without producing a smell, or toxic vapor, and if uncontaminated it will remain clean. Unfortunately being exposed to the outside elements provides ample opportunities for the glass to become contaminated by dirt, dust, bird droppings, even acid rain, requiring the fire glass be removed from the fire pit tray and washed.
Using a Stainless Steel Fire Pit Cover specifically designed to be used with the American Fireglass range of Drop In Fire Pit Trays will significantly reduce the number of times you need to clean your fireglass. It will also save you from removing leaves, twigs and other such flammable materials every time you light your fire pit.
A heavy downfall of rain may possibly overcome the drainage provided by weep holes in the base of your fire pit tray, and will leave the fireglass damp, and possible a puddle inside your fire pit tray. These are safety issues, and it would be wise not to use your fire pit until it is completely dry. Also, if the drainage from the fire pit structure itself were to become blocked by debris or such, there is an increased risk of the components becoming submerged in water. Again, this creates safety issues.
All in all a Fire Pit cover is a very sensible addition to your fire feature, reducing the number of times you will need to clean your fireglass, and increasing the opportunities that you can use your fire pit, because if it is covered you don’t need to wait for it to dry before you can use it.
The brushed Stainless Steel looks pretty good too!
