Classic Fire Glass 1/4 Inch Black

Classic Fire Glass 1/4" Black

Fire Glass is a wonderfully colorful alternative to the usual gas logs or lava rock. Replacing gas logs with fire glass will transform a fireplace. It will look great even when it is not lit, but when it is alight and the flames seem to be dancing on the surface of the fire glass and the colors are reflected from hundreds of angles the effect can entrancing. American Fireglass products are manufactured to the highest standards from tempered glass creating a purity of color that is second to none.

All of our fire glass is packed into easy-to-handle 10 lb bags. As a rough volume guide, a fire pit or fireplace that measures 12″ x 8″ with 2″ depth will need 10.2 lbs., a 12″ diameter fire pit with 2″ of fire glass depth requires 12 lbs.

So how much fire glass will you need?

The easy way is to use our fire glass calculator to work it out. At the very least you need to cover the burner with your fire glass, which could range from 1.5″ to 4″ depending on your setup. If you are using a ‘drop-in’ tray we recommend filling it until the glass is flush with the top of the tray.

When adding the fire glass to your fire feature just ‘pour’ it in gently, do not pack it down in any way at all. Fire glass is relatively maintenance-free depending on the environment it is in. For example in exposed outdoor fire pits, general dust and dirt carried by the wind and toxic rain can after time leave deposits on your fire media. This residue is easily cleaned off with a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar, let it dry before putting it back into the fireplace. All our fire glass has a Lifetime Warranty.

Features:

  1.  Lifetime Limited Warranty – doesn’t give off any smoke, ash, or soot and no discoloration
  2.  Heat Resistant – up to 1300 degrees Fahrenheit and harsh weather without fading or chipping
  3.  Tempered Glass – made of non-tumbled tempered glass
